Did you know? PCE UNEDasiss
[Updated 2024]✅10 things you (maybe) don't know about UNEDasiss Accreditation

If you are an international student and want to access university in Spain, it is quite likely that you will have to apply for UNEDasiss accreditation and take the Specific Skills Tests, known as UNED Selectivity. In this other article We inform you about the registration and exam dates for both calls. But today we bring you 10 questions that (maybe) you don't know and that can guide you when applying for UNEDasiss accreditation and PCE in 2024.

1. Modality of Baccalaureate of Social Sciences and Humanities

Since 2024, Social Sciences and Humanities make up a single type of Baccalaureate. This modality gives access to careers such as Business Administration, International Relations, Law, Teaching or Translation and Interpretation, among others. Students who have previously requested UNEDasiss accreditation and have passed the UNEDasiss PCE and have been granted the Humanities modality do not need to take the CCSS Baccalaureate modality or take the Mathematics subject, since their record will automatically assign them the Social Sciences and Humanities.

2. Annex I students

Students who apply for UNEDasiss accreditation and come from Annex I educational systems (EU, China, IB and European Schools) will not need to contract the Baccalaureate Modality service. It will be recommended that, although it is not necessary, they have their Baccalaureate approved by the Spanish Ministry of Education.

3. History of Philosophy in 2024

Starting in 2024, the subject of History of Philosophy will not be present in the registration as specific, only as a general core, but it will continue to weight 0.2 for universities (until further notice). Therefore, pay attention when applying online for the PCE UNEDasiss 2024.

4. Baccalaureate modality if you present Philosophy

In the previous case, a student takes two general cores, one modality core and one specific, for example:

  • Language and Text Commentary (general core)
  • History of Philosophy (general core from 2024)
  • Mathematics applied to Social Sciences (modality core)
  • Company and Business Model Design (specific)

The modality can be marked and approved with an average of 5 points. This requirement to accredit the modality with 4 subjects, two of them being a general core, is only carried out provisionally for students who present Philosophy in the PCE UNEDasiss.

5. General Baccalaureate in the PCE UNEDasiss 2024

Did you know that from 2024 in Spain there will be a new type of Baccalaureate? This is because the new Education Law (LOMLOE) has come into force. If you want to discover this and other Baccalaureate modalities in the UNEDasiss accreditation, and its relationship with university degrees, you have to read this info.

6. Nationality of the student's passport

If a document (passport) of a non-Spanish speaking nationality is presented at registration and the university requests Spanish language accreditation (for example, the public universities of Madrid), the student must take the official Spanish exams (SIELE o DELE, for example) and surpass the corresponding level.

Therefore, if you have a passport of two different nationalities (it is very common to find students with Argentine and Italian nationality, for example), you are interested in registering for the UNEDasiss PCE with someone whose nationality is from a Spanish-speaking country.

7. Colombian students with the ICFES test passed

If your educational system is the Colombian one and you passed the ICFES test with more than 200 points, you can apostille your academic documentation and take advantage of the conditions of access to the university of the agreement signed between Spain and Colombia. You have all the detailed information here.

8. Specific Skills Tests PCE UNEDasiss in different calendar years

We are very sorry, but you cannot combine grades from different calendar years when calculating your final UNEDasiss grade. For example, if last year you got a 10 in Mathematics, but you did not manage to pass the PCE, that grade will not be saved for the UNEDasiss PCE of 2024. Therefore, our recommendation is that ALWAYS if you need it, you appear for the extraordinary call of the PCE UNEDasiss. Oh, and the best way to prepare will always be with the intensive summer course by Luis Vives.

9. International students in Spain presenting the PCE UNEDasiss 2024

Every year, tens of thousands of international students want to prepare to enter university in Spain. In the last year, UNED received almost 25.000 applications for UNEDasiss accreditation from more than 100 different countries on five continents: France, Colombia, China, Ecuador, Tunisia, Korea, Australia, Argentina, United States, Peru, Iran, Morocco, Mexico, India, Venezuela... the list is endless!

10. Difficulty of the Specific Skills Tests UNEDasiss 2024

Is the UNED Selectivity difficult? Yes. The exams are quite difficult. You must keep in mind that the level of these tests is the same as that faced by Spanish Baccalaureate students, who prepare for it during their two years of Baccalaureate. The most difficult subjects, according to statistics, are Language, History of Spain, Mathematics and Physics. The subjects with the highest passing percentage are languages (English, French, German, Italian and Portuguese).

Bonuses!

If your native language is not Spanish, you will probably be interested in having the questions in the PCE UNEDasiss Specific Competencies Tests translated into English. This service has no cost to you, but you must check the box when you complete the online application for UNEDasiss accreditation.

Tips for the PCE UNEDasiss 2023 Physics exam - Luis Vives Study Center
🧲Physics PCE UNEDasiss | What the exam is going to be like and 5 tips.

Did you know that in recent years, among those who managed to pass the Physics subject of the PCE UNEDasiss, the average grade was higher than 7,5? If you want to access engineering, architecture or other science careers, you may have to take the Physics exam at the PCE UNEDasiss 2024. We explain what the exam is like, and if you read until the end we will give you five important tips to improve your skills. results.

What will the 2024 PCE exam be like? Physics PCE UNEDasiss

In the PCE UNEDasiss Physics exam of 2024, both in the June and September calls, you will find:

  • The first part of the exam will be closed multiple choice questions and their total value of 5 points. The test type is made up of 15 questions of which a maximum of 10 must be answered. If you answer more than 10 questions, only the first 10 answers will be considered. Each correct question adds 0,5 points, each incorrect answer subtracts 0,15 points and every blank question neither adds nor subtracts.
  • The other part will be open questions in the form of problems and will also be worth 5 points. In this part, 4 problems are given, of which 2 must be chosen. Each problem is worth 2,5 points. All sections of each problem have the same value.

To obtain the full score in the development part, the result must not only be correct, but each question must also be justified and reasoned (also with words).

At the Luis Vives Study Center, we always recommend our students practice with real exams from other years. For them, we have a large number of exam models, and solved exams, which you can find both on our website and in our YouTube Channel.

Five tips to improve your results on the Physics exam

Physics tries to describe reality in a quantitative way, that is, through mathematical models. Therefore, the better your level of Mathematics, the easier your learning of Physics will be. However, Mathematics is not everything, there are also a series of concepts behind it that must be understood. And there are times when understanding these concepts can better strengthen the Mathematics behind it. Therefore, these tips are valid no matter what level you have 🙂

Below we leave you the 5 key points that we believe can help you prepare your entrance exam to the PCE UNEDasiss Physics university in 2024, although they are also valid for other Selectivity exams: EvAU | EBAU, over 25, and even access to higher-level training cycles. If you are going to take the EvAU, we recommend this article from our collaborating center, Academia Bravosol, where they tell you what the Physics exam will be like and the mistakes you should avoid making in it.

  1. Practice with the calculator you are going to take to the exam. It may seem obvious, but mastering your work material is essential. There are many errors that can come from not having written scientific notation properly, from errors in parentheses levels or from confusion with radians and degrees. Plus, if you know your work tools you will go faster!
  1. Always do the exercises cleanly. That is, solve the exercises you do to practice as you would do them in an exam. Well organized, legible and beautiful. At first it will take longer, but as you get used to it, it will come naturally. And whoever corrects you will want to give you a higher grade if you make their life easier 😉
  1. Explain the ideas as if you were teaching the person reading you. Explaining your developments helps you connect physical ideas much better. In addition, the exercises can be followed more easily and you will show that you know a lot.
  1. Solve algebraically and then substitute the data. That is, first solve for the magnitude you want to calculate from the equation instead of substituting the data and then solving. For example, if the exercise asks you to calculate how far apart you have to place two charges so that they feel a certain force, we first solve for the distance from Coulomb's law and then we will substitute the data of the charges and the force. Many errors can come from doing an intermediate calculation wrong, while this way you only have to enter the data into the calculator once.
  1. Ask yourself if your results make physical sense.  You can detect an error in an exercise due to a result that does not make sense. For example, if you are calculating a speed, you can know that that result is wrong if it is greater than the speed of light. And so with distances, temperatures, energies,…

Don't despair, grit your teeth and make one last effort.💪

Five tips to improve your results in the Spanish Geography exam

Regarding the subject of Geography, we are interested in what is taught in the 2nd year of Baccalaureate. It is a subject incorporated into the section of modality-specific subjects, easy to understand and with great content.

Here you have 5 tips to facilitate your study and approach the test successfully, whether you are taking the PCE UNEDasiss exam, the EVAU, the university entrance test for those over 25 or the baccalaureate. If you wish, you can also take a look at the blog of our collaborating center, Bravosol Academy, in which they have published an article with the errors that you should try to avoid when preparing for the Geography exam.

  1. Study with maps of Spain next to you. This will help you memorize the map and locate some phenomena, both physical and human, that are seen in the matter.
  2. Learn to solve practical exercises with a clear methodology. When facing practical exercises, it is best that you know how to structure them and a good methodology will provide you with a good basis to execute them during the test.
  3. Know the definitions or geographical terms: the definitions are many, but they appear throughout the entire syllabus. In any case, we have to know how to define almost any geographical term. So in order not to memorize everything, it is best to understand it and thus be able to define it with our words.
  4. Study the physical and political map of both Spain and Europe. It uses either atlases or geographic applications with interactive games, but the recognition of geographical features, as well as countries in Europe or provinces and communities in Spain, is something basic in the subject and in any exam on the subject.
  5. Use correct geographical vocabulary. Even if we are not geographers, we must know how to explain ourselves adequately, using a rich vocabulary adapted to the subject. This will make the person examining you see that you handle geographical concepts well and know the subject.

Don't despair, grit your teeth and make one last effort.💪

Five tips to improve your results on the Biology exam

Biology is a subject that is part of the subjects of the specific phase in the university entrance test, and that is part of the access route for the degrees in Sciences and Health Sciences.

It is an exciting and very interesting subject, but at the same time it is very extensive, and hence its difficulty when studying it.

That is why we give you 5 tips that will help you study the fundamental and most important aspects of the Biology subject, so that when you take the 2024 PCE UNEDasiss exam, you can be prepared to answer correctly and achieve the highest possible grade. These tips are also valid if you are applying to the EvAU, in which case, we also recommend that you take a look at the article that has been published in our collaborating center, Bravosol Academy, in which they tell you the mistakes that you should avoid making in the Biology exam of EvAU 2024.

  1. The Biology subject consists of 5 blocks. You can study them independently but don't be tempted to stop studying any of them. Everyone enters the exams. It is better to know all the contents of the syllabus than to master only part of it.
  2. This subject has a very extensive and own vocabulary; Create a glossary with these words. With short and clear definitions, so that you can identify them and use them in the appropriate context.
  3. Draw pictures. For example, one way to study the cell is by drawing pictures of its organelles. If you see exams from other years, you will be able to see that there are both questions with drawings that ask us to identify what they are, and questions in which they ask us to draw them. And, if we have practiced before, it will be less difficult for us to do it in the exam. They do not have to be artistic drawings, but they do have to be clear and in which what we want to highlight can be perfectly seen.
  4. Make summaries of the topics as you study them. They include definitions, diagrams, comparative tables. The more you work on writing and exposing the concepts of the subject, the more you will learn.
  5. Read about current events related to the show's topics. You can also watch outreach videos. Ultimately, it's about using all the tools you have, in addition to textbooks. We are surrounded by information about Biology and its relationship with our daily lives, which will help us understand the entire subject program.

Much encouragement!

Tips for the UNEDasiss PCE Language exam 2023 - Luis Vives Study Center
🤩PCE Language UNEDasiss 2024 | How will the exam be and 5 tips

Many students encounter serious difficulties when preparing the subject of Spanish Language and Literature for the PCE UNEDasiss 2024 Selectivity. Some come from non-Spanish-speaking countries, which represents an added difficulty in preparation. If you appear soon, we will tell you what the exam is like and give you some tips to pass it.

How will the PCE UNEDasiss 2024 Language exam be?

The PCE UNEDasiss Language exam, both in the ordinary and extraordinary calls, will last 90 minutes, and will have a single option with a text and three blocks:

  • Block I (5 points): composed of 12 multiple choice questions, with three options each. You must answer only 10. Each correct answer adds 0,5 points, each error subtracts 0,15. Blank questions do not count towards the final calculation.
  • Block II (2 points): writing an argumentative text on a given topic and related to the proposed text. Two options will be given, of which you must choose one.
  • Block III (3 points): open development question on a literature topic. Two options are given, and you have to choose only one.

Five tips to improve your results on the Language exam

Spanish Language and Literature is a subject in which essential knowledge is acquired for any competent speaker of our language, as it helps us express ourselves in a more correct and appropriate way and be aware of the mechanisms that our language makes available to us.

Facing the study of this subject will not be difficult if you follow these tips:

  1. Practice texts. A very common mistake when preparing for this subject is to think that you can get a good grade just by memorizing concepts. All the theoretical knowledge you have acquired must always be accompanied by practice. Train your reading comprehension and writing skills: read texts, summarize them, write arguments. The exam models already solved (you have many on our website) will serve as a guide.
  1. Pay attention to the literature. The most important thing is that you do not leave the study of literature to the last minute: organize yourself, make outlines and be very clear about which authors are included in each topic. It is also important that you do not read them all “at once”, but that you intersperse the study of literary movements with other topics because, otherwise, it is very likely that you will begin to mix data and a hodgepodge of names will form in your head. It is also advisable that you be aware of the context in which each literary movement is inserted because, in the end, the works of that period are the result of the moment in which they are living.
  1. Spend time reading the text and questions. It is important that you read the text from which the exam starts as many times as necessary, since many of the questions deal with its content. Reading it just once and starting to answer the exam will only mean you have to go back to the text again and again to locate what you need, making you waste very valuable time. Read the statements carefully and stick to answering what is asked. Don't digress.
  1. Take care of spelling. What you write is as important as how you write it. If points are deducted for spelling errors in all subjects, in this specific subject the criteria are more rigid. Review spelling rules and the use of punctuation marks, as they are essential. It is very annoying to have made an effort to study, answer the questions well and see how your grade decreases because of mistakes, accent marks or even handwriting.
  1. Control time and space. You must adjust to the time you have. If you know what the test you are taking is going to be, you will already know its structure and that will help you estimate how much time you can dedicate to each question so that you have time to take the entire exam. If you have a limit of pages in your test, calculate beforehand how much you can extend in each exercise so as not to have space problems.

It would be advisable for you to do mock exams at home, as they will help you calculate these two parameters. To do this, you have at your disposal on our website both exam models as solved exams from previous years, both PCE UNEDasiss and EvAU selectivity. Furthermore, in our youtube channel, You will also be able to see the explanation of some exams solved by our teachers.

We wish you good luck 😀

PCE UNEDasiss selectivity exams 2023. Luis Vives Study Center
[Updated 2024]⭐Information about the PCE UNEDasiss Selectivity

Hello, #Vivers! Like every year, as a center specialized in the preparation of the PCE, we bring you updated information on the UNEDasiss accreditation process and the Specific Skills Tests, also known as the PCE UNEDasiss selectivity exams for students with a foreign baccalaureate.

All the Managing Entities of the UNED, this December we have been summoned to the annual meeting of the information days on access to the UNEDasiss university. As we do not want you to miss a single detail, we summarize the most important points about the accreditation process, and the Specific Competence Tests.

Specific competency tests – PCE UNEDasiss Selectivity

Registration period for the PCE 2024

As in previous years, in this course, you will have two registration dates to take the Specific Skills Tests:

  • Ordinary call: from February 26 to May 2.
  • Extraordinary call: 1 22 of the July.

Registration will be done online. You can attach all the documentation required by UNEDasiss to take the test.

If you want to complete the PCE UNEDasiss selectivity through a UNED Managing Entity, you must register when the deadline opens. The places in the affiliated centers are limited and, if they are full, you will have to register in a center where there are free places.

PCE UNEDasiss 2024 exam dates

In this course, tests will be called on the following dates:

  • Ordinary call: week of May 20 in Spain.
  • Extraordinary call: from the 2 to the 7 for September.

In the ordinary, the exams that are carried out in the headquarters that the UNED has abroad, will be held the week of June 3.

The UNEDasiss exams will be exclusively in person, except in exceptional cases duly justified.

Optability in the PCE selectivity exams

For the preparation of the PCE UNEDasiss selectivity, the same format as the previous course will be maintained (always depending on the subject). The exams will be made up of a series of multiple choice questions and development questions. Students will have greater optionality in the questions, so that they can have an easier time choosing the answer they give during the exam. If you want, you can take a look at the latest test exams.

Baccalaureate Modality

Students should consult the universities where they are going to apply for admission if it is necessary for their accreditation to include the baccalaureate modality. In the public universities of Madrid, it is required to prove a high school diploma to apply for admission. To do this, the old and new evaluation formula from the last year will be maintained, so you can choose between any of the two options that we show you below:

  • Old formula: students will be able to take the 3 PCE exam. You are required to score a minimum of 5 in all subjects to be able to consider the baccalaureate modality accredited.
  • New formula: students will be able to take the 4 PCE exam. You will have to achieve an arithmetic average of more than 5 points among the four subjects to be able to consider the baccalaureate modality accredited.

Language requirement

Students from a non-Spanish-speaking country must prove the knowledge Spanish B1. We advise you to check the level of Spanish required at the destination university itself, since currently some universities require a level B2 certified.

From our spanish department For foreign students, we will be able to advise you on everything necessary to accredit your level of Spanish.

Finally, we remind you that if you have any questions, you can contact UNED through their web page

From Luis Vives Study Center, as a collaborating entity of the UNED and a specialist center in the preparation of the PCE UNEDasiss exams, we will be able to advise you on everything you need. If you have any questions click here and get in touch with us.

Educational Reform of Spain LOMLOE - Luis Vives Study Center
🧾I want to go to study in Spain: How does the new educational reform affect me?

If you want to study at university in Spain and your baccalaureate is of foreign origin, you are surely wondering how the entry into force of the LOMLOE educational reform will affect you.

Continue reading, because this article will answer all your doubts: we tell you the things that have changed, but also those that remain the same as before.

What things continue as before?

The process that foreign students who want to study at a Spanish university must follow is similar to previous years:

  • First of all, you should know that in order to apply for admission to the university you will have to validate your Secondary or Baccalaureate degree.
  • Furthermore, for most access to Spanish universities you will have to obtain the UNEDasiss accreditation, which will match your academic record to that of Spanish students, so that you can apply for a place in the university degree you want.
  • If you come from a non-Spanish-speaking country, you will have to prove an adequate level of Spanish through an official qualification, such as the DELE or SIELE.

In short, your path to achieving success in Spain will be like the one we explained to you in this article.

What things have changed with the new educational reform in Spain?

The changes of the new educational reform (LOMLOE) in access to university for foreign students who want to study in Spain mainly affect the UNEDasiss Specific Competencies tests. This is because these tests must adjust to the characteristics of the new law.

This means that the contents of the exams are different from those before 2024. The name of the subjects has changed, the syllabus of most of them has changed, and even the way of evaluating the exams. For all this, don't you think it's a good idea to prepare yourself with our courses?

But there are also changes in the structure of subjects that you must choose in the PCE. For the PCE Selectivity in 2024, UNED has established four Baccalaureate modalities. The student must choose one of these routes to take his PCE exams, depending on the career he wants to access (remember that you can review here university courses offered in Madrid).

  • Science and Technology Option. For Engineering or Health careers, among others.
  • Social Sciences and Humanities Option. For Business or Philology majors, among others.
  • Arts Option. For careers such as Art History or Fine Arts, among others.
  • General Baccalaureate Option. This route is a novelty of the LOMLOE, which allows students to accredit a more general route. It gives access to a wider range of university courses, such as Tourism, International Relations, Philosophy or Criminology, for example.

How can I know which subjects I have to choose in the PCE?

We hope that with this article, it has become clear to you how the changes of the new LOMLOE educational reform in Spain may affect you. If you want to know how many subjects you have to take the exam in the PCE and what these subjects should be, you have to know that this will depend on the country where you obtained your baccalaureate, the Autonomous Community in which you want to study and the specific degree in which you want to study. that you want to enter. In this article We tell you everything about it. If you have any questions, you can leave us a comment.

PCE grade calculator for university access for foreigners. Luis Vives Study Center
💡 PCE UNEDasiss grade calculator

Hello, Vivers! Today we bring you magic. Students with a foreign baccalaureate who are preparing for university access through the UNEDasiss Specific Skills Tests always ask us how to calculate what grades you need to get in the PCE Selectivity exams to access the university degree you want.

To know what grade you must achieve to access the university degree you want, you can consult the cut-off marks of Madrid public universities. If you want to know what cut-off marks are and how they are calculated, take a look at this another article from our blog.

The cut-off marks that you must review in this table are those of Group 1, to which students with a high school diploma equivalent to Spanish belong. These scores are between a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 14.

How is the university entrance score calculated?

To calculate what would be your university entrance note, you should know that the UNEDasiss accreditation will give you a score of 5 to 10, and it will be the destination university that will raise you up to four additional points, multiplying by 0,2 the two PCE subjects in which you have obtained the best grades, as long as when these weight 0,2 for the degree you want to study. For its part, the UNEDasiss grade is calculated with the high school grade and the results of the PCE. We explain it to you with the following formulas:

UNEDasiss score (up to 10 points) = 4 + NMB*0,2 + M1*0,1 + M2*0,1 + M3*0,1 + M4*0,1

  • NMB = Average high school grade – It is the grade of your high school approved by the Spanish Ministry of Education, or calculated by UNED itself.
  • M1: Subject 1.
  • M2: Subject 2.
  • M3: Subject 3.
  • M4: Subject 4.

*In the calculation of the final UNEDasiss grade, only PCE grades in which at least a 5 has been obtained are taken into account.

Access grade (up to 14 points) = UNEDasiss Qualification + 0,2*M + 0,2*M

  • M are the two subjects in which you obtain the best grade in the Specific Skills Tests, as long as they weight 0,2 for the career you want and you have obtained at least a 5 in the PCE exam.

Baccalaureate modality

In the public universities of Madrid, as an essential requirement for access to the university for foreigners, having the baccalaureate modality is accredited. This is marked by the subject that you chose as the core of the itinerary. To accredit it, in the PCE exams you take, you must have a minimum grade of 5 in the general core subject, the itinerary core subject and one of the two specific subjects or have an average grade of 5 in the 4 subjects.

If you don't know which subjects you should choose for the PCE exams, remember that you can always consult this article.
