EvAU/EBAU grade calculator for university access for foreigners. Luis Vives Study Center
💻 EvAU/EBAU grade calculator

Hello, #Vivers! Most of you review your cut-off marks many times, and do many calculations to know if you will be able to gain access to university in the degree you want. We want to help you with our grade calculator for the EvAU EBAU Selectivity. Also, if you want to know what cut-off marks are and how they are calculated, you can take a look at this article from our blog.

Calculation of the grade for students from high school

To calculate your EvAU/EBAU university entrance score, several grades are taken into account. On the one hand, your average high school grade. On the other hand, the results obtained in the university entrance test. In the event that you want to access the university from a higher degree training cycle, your FP transcript grade will be taken into account.

Remember that the EvAU or EBAU has two phases: general and specific. Students who come from high school will have to complete the general phase on a mandatory basis and the specific phase on a voluntary basis. For their part, students who come from FP will only have to complete the specific phase.

La general phase It is composed of:

  • Spanish Language and Literature.
  • Foreign language: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese.
  • Contemporary History of Spain or History of Philosophy.
  • Modality Trunk.

The modality core will depend on the branch of careers you want to access. You have the following options:

  • Science and Engineering: Mathematics II.
  • Social and Legal Sciences: Applied mathematics to social sciences.
  • Humanities: Latin.
  • Fine Arts: Artistic drawing.
  • General Baccalaureate: General sciences.

In the specific phase You will be able to choose those subjects related to the career you want to do at the university. You must choose those subjects that weight 0,2 (green column) in this table. You can choose between 0 and 4 subjects. But you should keep in mind that at most, the university will take the two best grades for the calculation of the admission grade.

Calculation of the grade for students from high school

For students coming from high school, the formula to calculate your EvAU/EBAU admission grade (from 5 to 14 points) is as follows:

Admission grade = 0,6*CFB + 0,4*EvAU + 0,2*M1 + 0,2*M2

  • CFB: final high school grade.
  • EvAU: the average grade of the four subjects of the general phase.
  • M1: the best of the marks of the specific phase.
  • M2: the second best grade of the specific phase.

You can also use the modality core subject as M1 or M2. Of course, you will only be able to use subjects in which you have obtained at least a 5 on the exam.

Calculation of the grade for students from higher degree FP

For their part, for students who come from higher-level vocational training, the following formula is used:

Admission grade = NFP + 0,2*M1 + 0,2*M2

  • NFP: FP file note
  • M1: the best of the marks of the specific phase.
  • M2: the second best grade of the specific phase.

For M1 and M2, only subjects in which at least a 5 has been obtained in the exam will be taken into account.

Cut-off marks 2023 - Luis Vives Study Center
⭐CUT NOTES (Madrid 2025) | We tell you EVERYTHING

Hello, Vivers. What are the cut-off marks and how are they calculated? How many times do we hear these questions every year! It's understandable. All students preparing for university entrance exams in 2025 (PAU, EvAU, EBAU, PCE UNEDasiss Specific Competences Tests or Over 25s) need guidance regarding the cut-off marks and the grade you need to obtain in the exams to be able to access that university degree you like. And that's what today's article is about.

The cut-off grade for a university degree is the admission grade of the last student who entered that grade, in order of grade.

Calculate the 2023 cut-off mark - Luis Vives Study Center

We have a permanently updated document where you can find updated cut notes of the public universities of the Community of Madrid. And don't forget to visit our YouTube video about what cut-off marks are and how they are calculated, in which we explain very interesting things.

What are cutoff marks?

Before defining what cutoff marks are, we have to differentiate three concepts:

  • Selectivity Note: It is the grade you get in the general phase of the university entrance exams.
  • University Access Qualification (CAU): is the grade resulting from the weighting of your Baccalaureate and your Selectivity (60%-40%).
  • Admission note: is the sum of your CAU with your grade from the specific phase of the Selectivity.

The cut-off marks are published annually by the university district of Madrid, and are reference grades that students must achieve in order to enter the degree they want.

For example, if the cut-off grade in 2024 for Medicine at the Complutense University of Madrid is 13,26, this means that in 2025 you must achieve that admission grade at least to be able to enter that career, although this has some nuances that we will see later.

How are the cut-off marks calculated?

As we have said, the cut-off grade for a degree is the admission grade of the last student who enters that university degree.

Let's give an example:

According to the latest data, the UCM offers 320 places in the Medicine degree. In the last year, 7120 people applied for a place in that grade. The admission method is to put those 7120 people in order of grade. The first candidate to enter is the one who has obtained the best admission grade. In this way, the first 320 candidates access Medicine, once they have been placed in that order. The last candidate who enters (number 320) is the one who makes the cut... that's why they are called CUT NOTES 😀

The million dollar question: will I be able to get into the career I want?

This depends on several factors. First of all, from your notes baccalaureate and the results you obtain in the Selectivity. The better they are, the more options you will have to get a place in that grade you like.

A characteristic of the cutoff notes is that they are indicative. In 2024, the cut-off mark for Medicine was 13,26; But if students obtain better grades in 2025, or there are more candidates to enter that degree, or the UCM offers fewer places, the cut-off grade may rise. Remember that the maximum admission grade is 14,00.

According to the trend of recent years, most of the cut-off marks have been increasing, so you should try to exceed the target cut-off score by several tenths.

In case you haven't seen it yet, we have two articles where we help you calculate your admission grade if you are going to take the Selectivity PAU EvAU EBAU, or if you are preparing the Specific Skills Tests PCE UNEDasiss.

What should I do if I don't get the grade? I got a 13,10, can I apply for a place in Medicine?

Surely you are wondering what happens if you don't reach the cut-off mark they ask for in your career. Of course you can apply for a place in the grade you want, although that does not guarantee you entry. But in case you stay close to the note they ask for, also You MUST ask for it. Although the official cut-off mark is 13,26, they may call you in case there is a vacancy to study that degree. Note that There are people who, once admitted to a degree, decide not to confirm their enrollment.. That is why Universities make several calls (first call, second call, etc.) until the places are filled.

Remember that during the admission process to the university in Madrid (in June or July) You can indicate up to a total of 12 university degrees of interest, in order of priority. The unique university district of Madrid, made up of the six public universities, will assign you a place in the university degree that your admission grade allows.

I have not taken the “normal” Selectividad (PAU, EvAU, EBAU, PCE UNEDasiss), is my cut-off mark the same as those for those routes?

If you want to access university through the access route for over 25s, over 40s, over 45s or through your university degree, your cut-off marks are different. On some occasions, universities make them public through their websites, and on other occasions you must consult directly with them what grade you must achieve to obtain your place.

We hope we have helped you. We always tell you the same thing: don't think too much about the cut-off grade, dedicate yourself to doing your best, so that you can have a greater number of options to enter many different university degrees.

What is the cut-off mark for the career you want to enter? Leave us a comment! Much encouragement.

EvAU/EBAU and PCE UNEDasiss Selectivity exam review - Centro de Estudios Luis Vives
Everything you need to know about the Selectivity exam review

Hello, #Vivers! Many of our Selectivity students are going to receive, in the coming days, the scores for the university entrance exams that you have recently taken. From the academy, we want to explain to you what you should know if you decide to request a review of the Selectivity exam, both EvAU EBAU and PCE UNEDasiss, in any of the subjects.

On some occasions, it happens that the grade you have obtained is considerably lower than what you expected. We must keep in mind that for an answer to obtain maximum score, it must comply with all the official content required in the question. In addition to complying with correct spelling, calligraphy and presentation.

Review dates for the EvAU/EBAU and PCE UNEDasiss Selectivity exams

Exam review dates EvAU/EBAU Selectivity in Madrid they are usually the days after the grades are published (check the admission calendar to the university of the Community of Madrid).

The review dates of the exams of the Selectivity PCE UNEDasiss It will be three days after the publication of the grades. The review request will be made from the UNEDasiss user panel, for the subjects that the student desires.

If you request a review, you should know that your answers will be corrected by a second specialist, different from the one who evaluated your test in the first correction. The final result of your exam will be the arithmetic average of the two grades obtained in each correction.

However, if there is a difference of two or more points between both corrections, the test will be corrected by a third specialist. The final grade will be the arithmetic mean of the three values.

In the Selectivity exam review, it is also verified that your answers meet all the general and specific correction criteria, and that there are no calculation errors in the assignment of the final grade. It is very important that you keep in mind that an exam review in Selectivity can raise or lower your grade.

object lesson

Let's imagine that you get a 4 on your Mathematics II exam, and you ask for an exam review.

First assumption:

A second teacher corrects your exam, and assigns you a grade of 5. Your final grade will be the arithmetic mean of both grades: (4+5)/2 = 4,5.

Second assumption:

A second teacher corrects your exam, and assigns you a score of 7. Since the difference is two points or more compared to the first correction, a third specialist corrects your test and assigns you a score of 4. The arithmetic mean of the three grades will be (4+7+4)/3 = 5. That will be your final grade.

We hope we have helped you understand the review process for the EvAU, EBAU and PCE UNEDasiss Selectivity exams. If you still have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. You can do so by writing us an email to academia@luis-vives.es, using our form contact or sending us a WhatsApp. Also, we hope that it is not necessary for you to ask for it. In any case, good luck to all of you!
