    Hello!

Do you recommend taking exams in 6 subjects for psychology?

I have a baccalaurete from the EU. On the UNED website it says that only subjects from the academic years 2018/2019 are recognized. (Mine is from 2017/2018)
When I called UAM, they told me that I have to send my baccalaureate to UNED for the accreditation and that they would tell me how many credits are left to reach the court grade for psychology (this year 10,884). Furthermore, UAM said that I can reach 5-10 through the accreditation of UNED and the additional 4 credits have to be related to the degree I want to study.

It's still not clear for me. Can I only reach the credits by taking the PCE-exams or will my baccalaureate be recognized?
If the court grade for psychology is 10,884 – how many subjects of PCE are necessary?

    Your answer is appreciated!
    Best Regards

    • February 23, 2021 at 12:36 pm

      Hi Saskia,
According to your instructions we can interpret that, by having a baccalaureate completed in 2017/2018, you no longer obtain subject recognition. Since your high school has a reciprocity regime, you must take 2 PCE subjects that weight 0 to reach 2 points, from 4 to 10. In this case, these subjects could be Biology and Chemistry.
In any case, we recommend that you contact the UNED admissions department so that they can guide you about your access conditions according to your academic profile.
      A greeting.

  • November 23, 2021 at 2:03 am

    Kind regards.
    I have a question,
If I wanted to study law in Madrid
And in the weighting table for this career in Madrid universities it says that all the core subjects of modality are worth 0,2 for this career, that is, both Latin, maths, applied maths and foundations of art are worth 0,2. It would be nice if you chose like this:
    -English, as a general trunk
-Fundamentals of art, as a modality core
-History of philosophy, History of art, as modality subjects

Because in the previous comments I see that they recommend applied maths and not fundamentals of art for law in the core modality. So I had doubts in that part, if there is a problem with not choosing applied maths for law
    Thanks for your attention.

    • November 23, 2021 at 1:21 pm

      Hello Daniela!

Indeed, the configuration of subjects that you indicate would be valid for studying Law at one of the Madrid universities. However, our recommendation, given that the Law degree belongs to the branch of social sciences, is that you choose the subject of Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences as the core modality, which is the subject of this branch, since in terms of access to the university, students who have taken this subject could have preference over those who have taken something from another branch. This is what happens with the subject of Fundamentals of Art, which is from the branch of Arts and Humanities.

      All the best

      – Two to choose from Technical Drawing, Physics or Chemistry (all of them weight 0,2) as modality subjects.
However, this configuration could vary to study at universities in other Autonomous Communities, so if your intention is not to study in the Community of Madrid, we recommend that you consult directly with the university you want to attend.
      A greeting.

Hello, I really liked the article, very good.
A question, for computer engineering at USAL, what subjects do you recommend I take? Taking into account that only mathematics II and physics could reach 0,2 (in that career and university specifically)

    Thank you very much!

    • January 10, 2022 at 6:21 pm

      Hello, Virginia!
In the case of Computer Engineering, as in most engineering fields, the most common configuration of subjects is usually:
      – Spanish Language and Literature, History of Spain or English as a general core.
      – Mathematics II as a modality core.
      – Technical Drawing and Physics as modality subjects.
However, if at the University of Salamanca you have been told that the only subjects that give you a weight of 0,2 are Mathematics II and Physics, instead of Technical Drawing you could choose any other subject that gives a weight of 0,1, such as Chemistry or Biology. , since these subjects will only be used to calculate the grade of your UNEDasiss credential. We recommend that you confirm all this with the University of Salamanca before taking the tests.
      A greeting.

Hello, I am Peruvian and I would like to study the degree of Biomedical Engineering at the public university of Valladolid, but I do not know what courses I should study and at the same time I do not know if I should also take a test called EBAU, and if so, what courses should I take? ? Thanks in advance, regards

    • January 10, 2022 at 6:29 pm

      Hello Aylin!
If you have a foreign high school diploma, to access university in Spain, you have to take the Specific Competence Tests (PCE) organized by the UNED. These tests are the equivalent of the EBAU, which are the tests that students who have a Spanish baccalaureate have to take.
In the PCE, if you wanted to study at a university in the Community of Madrid, you would have to take the following subjects:
      – Spanish Language and Literature, History of Spain or English as a general core.
      – Mathematics II as a modality core.
      – Two to choose from Biology, Technical Drawing, Physics or Chemistry as modality subjects.
However, as you indicate that you want to study at the University of Valladolid, we recommend that you confirm this with this university, since being another Autonomous Community, the requirements may not be exactly the same.
      A greeting.

Hello, I want to study the Data Science degree in Madrid or Valencia. I have already started the Homologation process for my non-EU foreign Bachelor's degree. I have thought about preparing the English, Mathematics II, Physics and Biology tests. I would like to know if my choice is correct. Thank you so much. Greetings

    • January 18, 2022 at 10:59 am

      Hello, Solange!
For the degree you indicate, for Madrid universities, our subject recommendation would be the following:
      – Spanish Language and Literature, History of Spain or English as a general core.
      – Mathematics II as a modality core.
      – Technical Drawing and Physics as modality subjects.
The subject of Biology, in some universities, would give you a weight of 0,2, but in others it would not, hence our recommendation is that you do better Technical Drawing, which would be useful for all universities.
In the case of the universities of Valencia, we recommend that you consult directly with those universities, since we do not work with them and we do not know that information.
      A greeting.

    • February 1, 2022 at 4:30 pm

      Hi Sara!

      – Spanish Language and Literature or a foreign language as a general core.

Good afternoon! If I want to apply for two careers such as Multimedia Design and Medicine, which subjects should I opt for? I want to take the exams, but having the possibility of getting the highest grade to be able to apply (if applicable) to medicine. Thank you in advance for your response.

    • February 1, 2022 at 4:27 pm

      Hello Gabriela!

In the case of not being very clear about which career you want to opt for, or, as in your case, having the possibility of opting for another career in the event of not obtaining a sufficient grade to enter medicine, you have to take into account that Ideally, both careers should be in the same branch of knowledge.

Medicine belongs to the branch of Health Sciences, and for this branch the subjects that must be taken are Mathematics II as a core modality, Biology and Chemistry as specific subjects, in addition to one to choose between Language, English or History of Spain as a core subject.

Regarding the other career that you mentioned, Multimedia Design, the most similar one taught in Madrid universities is Engineering in Audiovisual and Multimedia Systems, which belongs to the branch of Engineering and Architecture. In this case, the subjects to be taken are Mathematics II as the core modality, Physics and Technical Drawing as specific subjects, in addition to one to choose between Language, English or History of Spain.

Therefore, if you want to have the option of accessing both careers, the only option you would have is to take the four specific subjects, so that one or the other is taken into account depending on the career you ultimately want to access.

We do not consider this option to be highly recommended, since the more subjects are prepared and the more effort is distributed in the study, the more complicated it will be to obtain the desired grades. Our recommendation is that if what you want is to study Medicine, focus your efforts on preparing the subjects you need for it, and that if you do not obtain the necessary grade to access, choose to enroll in some other degree in the same branch, such as Nursing, Psychology, Physiotherapy or Pharmacy.

We hope we have been of help to you.

      A greeting.

Hello, good afternoon, I am interested in studying economics, at this very moment I am applying online choosing the PCE of the social itinerary. My question is: if I want to take the fourth PCE for the chemistry subject, which gives me a score of 0.2 for the degree, but it does not belong to the social itinerary but rather to the science itinerary. First, know if this option is possible and second, how should I do it? mark itinerary Sciences too? or mark Chemistry in the part that says rest of subjects.? Thank you so much

    • March 21, 2022 at 8:26 am

      Hello Daniel!

Yes, even if it is from a different itinerary, if the subject matters to you, it is totally valid. In this case you will have to mark only the Social Sciences modality and mark Chemistry in the "rest of subjects" section.

      Greetings!

  • March 23, 2022 at 7:13 pm

Hello! I want to apply for Archeology but I have a question; For the core modality, could I take the PCE in art history and choose history of philosophy and geography as electives?

    • March 24, 2022 at 8:52 am

      Hello Fernanda!

If you want to study at a public university in Madrid, this configuration of subjects will not work for you. To be able to access the Arts itinerary with the subject of Art History as a core modality, you must present one of the following specific subjects: Fundamentals of Art or Design.

If you want to study outside the community of Madrid, in a university where the baccalaureate modality is not required, you should check if this subject configuration is useful for you.

      Greetings!

  • March 24, 2022 at 3:48 am

    Hola!
I am thinking of applying for a scholarship for the degree in Development of 3D Applications and Video Games at the University of Salamanca, and regarding the subjects that I have to enroll in the PCE, I planned that they would be in Core Spanish Language and Literature or English, in the subject of Mathematics II modality And to choose those that are evaluated with 0.2, there would be Physics II, Mathematics II and Design, so I would like to take Mathematics II again and Design separately, is that okay? This career also has places limits, would just giving the PCE be enough for me to be admitted? I look forward to your prompt response and thank you for your help!

  • March 24, 2022 at 9:02 am

    Hi Alejandra!

Yes, only with the PCE you can access university as long as you get an access grade that allows you to enter the desired career. On the other hand, this configuration of subjects is correct to access the career you propose.
In any case, you will be able to retake Mathematics II and Design 🙂

    Greetings!

Hello, thank you very much for the article, I would like to know what subjects I should choose to present the PCE knowing that I am Colombian and I have a high school diploma and I want to study Business Administration at the University of Extremadura, in addition I have seen in the previous comments that they recommend the others ask the university to which they wish to apply what subjects to choose, so in my case, being a university outside of Madrid, should I also ask said university what subjects to choose?

NOTE: to study at the University of Extremadura, I must have Spanish citizenship or with an approved high school diploma and with the presentation of the PCE, could I study there?

    • June 15, 2022 at 7:25 am

Normally, in Extremadura, they require 4 PCE subjects (as in the public universities of Madrid), but they do not require the high school modality. In any case, we advise you to contact the university so that they can advise you on which subjects you should prepare for the test.
To take the test you must have your high school diploma approved 🙂

Good afternoon, I have a question. I understand that UNEDasiss allows you to take the exam in a total of 21 PCE subjects, so why is it sometimes mentioned to take the exam in subjects that are not on the list? to mention an example, "Performing Arts and Audiovisual Culture."

    Thank you very much.

    • February 1, 2023 at 6:01 pm

      Hello Josue:

Indeed, the PCE that you can take the exam with the UNEDasiss accreditation do not include any of the subjects that do appear in the Spanish high school curriculum. For example, UNED does not examine subjects such as Performing Arts and Audiovisual Culture. The instructions we gave Felipe on December 20 were not entirely correct. You can check the complete list of subjects of the PCE UNEDasiss in the following link

Good afternoon, if I want to study law in Madrid and I have subjects to examine:

    1. Mathematics applied to social sciences.
    2. Geography of Spain.
    3 English

Can I include Spanish history as a fourth subject? Or in any case, I would appreciate your recommendation for this last subject.

    • April 3, 2023 at 9:28 am

      Hi Stephanie!

Yes, it would be possible to add History of Spain as a fourth subject in the configuration that you indicate. Of course, in our opinion, it would not be the most advisable, since you would only have two subjects that could give you a weight of 0,2 for your university entrance grade (CCSS Mathematics and Geography), and if you did not obtain a good grade in one of them, qualification, it would hurt you a lot. Our recommendation is that as your fourth subject you take the Business Economics, History of Philosophy or History of Art exams, all of which have a weight of 0,2.

      A greeting.

Hello, if I want to apply for Portuguese studies philology in Salamanca, what should I take? And they say that you can choose up to 6 pce, could you tell me the extra 2 from where they are chosen.
    Thank you

    • April 11, 2023 at 8:24 am

      Hello, Mayté!

Since the Portuguese Studies Philology degree is not taught in Madrid universities, we cannot guide you regarding the subjects you should take the exam. We recommend that you contact the University of Salamanca directly so that they can confirm it for you.

Regarding the number of subjects, in Castilla y León (Autonomous Community to which the University of Salamanca belongs), they require you to take the exam in 4 PCE subjects. If you want to take more exams, you can do so, but UNED will only take into account the grades of the 4 best. We also recommend that you ask the university to confirm what these extra subjects could be.

      A greeting.

Hello. My name is Stephanie and I would like to apply for the extraordinary call due to lack of time and studies, but I have the following questions.

    1. Should I enroll in a university in the community of Madrid once I have taken the exams and know my grade?

    2. Could I choose the career I wanted even if I had taken the exams in the extraordinary session? Or will they only give me the races that have not been filled?

    • April 24, 2023 at 12:27 pm

      Hi Stephanie!

Registration at universities is carried out once you have taken the selectivity exams, so in your case, if you appear for the extraordinary call, it would be in September. Unfortunately, for the people who appear in the extraordinary call, there are hardly any places left in the different universities, there are only places left in the degrees that are least in demand. The rest occupy all their places in the month of July. Of course, if you appear in the extraordinary call, you obtain the grade that allows you to access the degree you want but there are no more places, that grade would help you try to access the next course again, without having to take the exams again.

All the best. We hope we have helped you.

Hello, Luis, excellent article, it has helped me a lot!!

I have a question, if I want to study Communication and Audiovisual Creation at the University of Salamanca, what subjects should I take?

    I was thinking of taking
    – English (General Trunk)
    -Fundamentals of Art (Modal Core)
    -Business Economics
    -Geography or history of art

If I'm not mistaken, Communication and Audiovisual Creation is in the Social and Legal Sciences branch, so is it mandatory to take Mathematics II or CCSS instead of Fundamentals of Art?

I wanted to know if it is possible to take Art Fundamentals instead of Mate II or CCSS, or is it mandatory for any degree in the Social and Legal Sciences branch?

    Regards!

    • June 2, 2023 at 7:21 am

      Hi Nicolas:

For the Audiovisual Communication degree, in all the Madrid universities where it is taught, the configuration of subjects that you indicate is perfectly valid, in all of them they allow you to take the Fundamentals of Art exam as a core modality subject.

However, since you want to access the University of Salamanca, our recommendation is that you ask directly at the university, since the requirements in the different autonomous communities of Spain may vary.

      A greeting.

Hello, good afternoon. I have a question, I plan to study Translation and Interpretation at the University of Granada. I don't know whether to prepare Mathematics applied to the social sciences or Latin in the core modality subject. I understand that Mathematics is valid, but it weights 0,10 according to the weighting table. I don't know which is the best option or what they would advise me. I would be very grateful if you could guide me on this matter. Greetings

    • October 18, 2023 at 8:19 am

      Hi luciano:

In Madrid universities, for the degree in Translation and Interpreting, Mathematics applied to Social Sciences weights 0,2 as a core subject, exactly the same as Latin. However, as you intend to enter the University of Granada, we recommend that you consult directly with them so that they can confirm the weight in your case, since in the different universities in Spain, the access requirements may vary. In case, as you indicate, Mathematics will only weight you 0,1, our recommendation is always that you take the exams in subjects that weight you 0,2.

      A greeting.

Hello, can you direct me in my case, since I am interested in applying for medicine and psychology but I also have the option of a degree in Spanish language and literature, so I am in doubt about which subjects I should choose and that will allow me to apply for all three degrees. Thanks in advance

    • December 18, 2023 at 10:09 am

      Hi Katherine,

For Medicine and Psychology degrees, the subjects you should take the exam are the following:
      – Spanish Language and Literature, History of Spain, History of Philosophy or a foreign language as a general core.
      – Mathematics II as a modality core.
      – Two to choose from Biology, Physics or Chemistry (all weight 0,2) as modality subjects.

Regarding the degree in Spanish Language and Literature, the subjects would be the following:
      – Spanish Language and Literature, History of Spain, History of Philosophy or a foreign language as a general core.
      – Foreign language (if you have not chosen it in the previous point), Fundamentals of Art or Latin as a core modality.
      – Business and Business Model Design and Art History (both weight 0,2)

As you can see, for Medicine or Psychology you do have a subject configuration that allows you to access both, but for Spanish Language and Literature, the configuration is totally different. It would be advisable that you decide on one of the two routes and do the corresponding preparation. If you are not sure, you can apply through Health, since the Humanities degree has a very low cut-off mark and you could apply for a place despite going for Sciences.

The most orthodox solution is to prepare both tracks (7 subjects in total), but we consider that it is not a good solution.

      A greeting.

  • February 29, 2024 at 4:36 pm

    Good morning,
I have a doubt regarding the tests and their mandatory subjects... I would like, as a first option, to apply for engineering. computer science or engineering of software, but I would like to have an economics degree as a second option. If I take the Mathematics II exam, is it also useful for my economics degree? Or should I also take the CCSS Mathematics exam?

And I also have a question about the weightings, yes I have already chosen 2 courses that will weight 0.2, but I want to give one more that weights 0.1. There is no possibility that my course grade of 0.1 will be given above one of 0.2, right?

    Thank you very much

    • March 1, 2024 at 8:54 am

      Hello Miguel! Thanks for comment:

      1. Starting this year, UNED allows you to accredit the Science and Engineering modality with CCSS Mathematics as a core modality, so you can prepare CCSS Mathematics and have that modality validated.

      2. To add up to 4 additional points to your UNEDasiss grade, they will take the two approved subjects that increase your grade the most. If you pass all the exams you will get the ones that weight 0,2, although in the one that weights 0,1 you get a higher grade.

We hope we have explained ourselves well. If not, she comments again.

Hello! I am Colombian and I would like to study Chemical Engineering in the Community of Madrid. Given that there is an agreement between countries and I want to use it, is it possible to take three or four subjects of the PCE tests instead of two and get the best two grades? What happens with the extra subjects taken, do they all count or only the ones with the best grade?

    • March 1, 2024 at 8:39 am

      Hello, Mariangela:

If you take more than two subjects, the university will always take into account the two subjects in which you obtain the best grade, discarding the rest.

    Hello
If you would like to enter computer engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Could I take 6 subjects or necessarily 4?
And in any case, what subjects should I prepare for the PCE exam?
    Greetings from Peru.

    • March 4, 2024 at 9:01 am

      Hi Dylan,

You can take the exam in 6 subjects if you want, but if you are going to try to access a university in the Valencian Community, only the grades in 4 of them will be taken into account.

Regarding the subjects, to enter Computer Engineering at the universities of the Community of Madrid, you have to present the following:

      – One to choose between Language, English, History of Spain or History of Philosophy as a general core subject.
      – Mathematics II as core modality subjects.
      – Technical Drawing and Physics as specific subjects.

However, since you want to access a university in the Valencian Community, we recommend that you confirm if this configuration is valid with the university itself, since the requirements may vary between the different autonomous communities of Spain.

      A greeting.
