All the information about the PAU Selectividad
If you want to enter university in Spain, the Selectividad (University Entrance Exam) is the test you must prepare for if you have passed the Spanish Baccalaureate . It is also the route for those entering from Higher Level Vocational Training (FP de Grado Superior ).
Test Structure
With a high school diploma , you can take only the compulsory phase (4 subjects) or add the optional phase (2 subjects), up to a maximum of 6 subjects . The number of subjects you choose will depend on the grade you need for the university degree you want.
With a Higher Level Vocational Training qualification , you can access the university entrance exams with your existing qualification or, if your score isn't high enough, improve it by taking the specific phase exams. You can take exams in up to 4 subjects , and the 2 best scores count.
It includes the subjects that all students must take:
- Spanish Language and Literature.
- History of Spain or History of Philosophy.
- Foreign language: English, French, German, Portuguese or Italian.
- A core subject according to the type of Baccalaureate taken: Mathematics II, Mathematics CCSS, Latin or Artistic Drawing.
Here you can take exams in up to four subjects, depending on the degree you wish to enter. At the Luis Vives Study Center, we recommend taking two. Some of the subjects that can improve your grade are:
- Physical.
- Technical drawing.
- Biology.
- Chemical.
- Geography.
- Company and Design of Business Models.
- History of art.
- Technology and Engineering.
University Entrance Exam Dates
The tests are offered twice a year:
- June (regular session)
- July (extraordinary session)
