If you want to go to university in Spain, the Selectivity PAU This is the test you must prepare for if you have passed the Spanish BaccalaureateIt is also the route for those accessing from Higher Grade FP.

Test Structure

With Undergraduate DegreesYou can do just the mandatory phase (4 subjects) or add the voluntary phase (2 subjects), up to a maximum of 6 subjectsThe number of subjects you choose will depend on the grade you need for the university degree you want.

With Higher Grade FPYou can access it with your qualifications or, if your grade isn't high enough, improve it by taking the specific phase exam. You can take the exam for up to 4 subjectsand they tell the 2 best ratings.

General Phase (mandatory)

It includes the subjects that all students must take:

  • Spanish Language and Literature.
  • History of Spain or History of Philosophy.
  • Foreign language: English, French, German, Portuguese or Italian.
  • A core subject according to the type of Baccalaureate taken: Mathematics II, Mathematics CCSS, Latin or Artistic Drawing.
Specific Phase (voluntary)

Here you can take exams in up to four subjects, depending on the degree you wish to enter. At the Luis Vives Study Center, we recommend taking two. Some of the subjects that can improve your grade are:

  • Physical.
  • Technical drawing.
  • Biology.
  • Chemical.
  • Geography.
  • Company and Design of Business Models.
  • History of art.
  • Technology and Engineering.

University Entrance Exam Dates

The tests are offered twice a year:

  • June (regular session)
  • July (extraordinary session)
