Many of you have asked us to explain in detail what the exams for the free tests to obtain the ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) diploma in the Community of Madrid will be like . In this article, we bring you a description of each of the four exams that make up the test.

The free tests for obtaining the ESO Graduate Certificate in Madrid have three areas :
- Social ambitGeography, History and Art exam.
- Scientific-Technological Area: Mathematics exam (Academic or Applied) and other sciences: Biology and Geology, Physics, Chemistry and Technology.
- Communications Area: a Spanish Language and Literature exam, and another English exam.
When taking exams you must carry your identity document (for example, DNI), you must turn off your cell phone and put it away. In addition, you must be especially careful with spelling mistakes and punctuation marks.

Exams for the areas of the free tests for obtaining the ESO Title in Madrid
Each of the areas that make up the free tests for obtaining the Graduate in ESO Title in Madrid consists of one exam, with the exception of the Communication Area, which is made up of two exams: English and Spanish Language and Literature.
Social ambit
The Social Studies exam will include content from Geography, History, and Art.
- Extension: approximately 10 questions.
- Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Tips:
- En Geography, masters the physical and political maps of Spain and Europe, but also of the whole world, as well as knowing concepts and definitions of the syllabus.
- En HistoryMemorize dates, but you must also understand historical events, their relationship, and overall chronological order.
- Regarding the subject of Art You can learn about works, authors, and artistic movements and their characteristics.
Scientific-Technological Area
In this subject's exam, we must choose between Academic or Applied Mathematics :
- En Academic MathematicsIn theory, there is a greater presence of Chemistry questions.
- En Applied mathematics, In theory, there are more Technology questions.
Actually, the Academic and Applied exams are very similar. Which ones are easier? Well… it depends on the year you take them.
Exam characteristics:
- Extension: approximately 10 questions.
- Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- IMPORTANT! In recent years, the use of calculators of any kind was NOT allowed.
Tips:
- Be neat and tidy, and clearly indicate the answer to each question.
- You must be fluent in arithmetic operations, as well as memorize and learn to apply formulas.
- Work on exercises and type problems: problems with systems of equations, interpretation of functions, areas and volumes, statistics and probability, stoichiometry or circuits, for example. To do this, check the exams from previous years.
- In descriptive content, such as Biology, prepare summaries of the content.
Communication Area: Spanish Language and Literature
- Extension: three blocks:
- Reading comprehension: read a text and answer questions related to it.
- Written expression: probably, to summarize the text as well as give an opinion on a topic.
- Knowledge of Language and Literary EducationQuestions on morphology, syntax, grammar, and spelling. There may be a multiple-choice section.
- Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Tips:
- Here, more than ever, Take care with your spelling and handwritingIf you think you might have problems in this area, work on it before the exam.
- Organize your ideas and explain yourself clearly.
- Be careful with test questions! Check your answers, because mistakes are penalized.
- Prepare the literature part well, since it is a simple topic, and it will allow you to easily earn points.
Communication Area: English
- Extension: approximately 7 questions.
- Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Tips:
- Since the answers are in a language that we do not master, you must take great care of your handwriting.
- Read the text calmly. Some answers to the questions will be in it, even if implicitly.
- Read, watch series and movies in English. Listen to music in English. Read its lyrics and subtitles, as all this will help you greatly improve your vocabulary.
- Master the basic grammatical structures: verb tenses, going into the negative form, asking a question, conditionals or passives, for example.
- Practice your essays.
