👍Solved exam: PCE Biology May 2021

Hello, #Vivers! As a continuation of the previous entry, and to continue helping you in the preparation of the PCE 2022 selectivity exams, today we bring you a new video with the resolution of another exam. In this case, we bring you the video with the resolved Biology exam corresponding to the PCE selectivity call for May 2021, also carried out by our Biology and Chemistry teacher, Julia Salvador.

As you can see in the video of the solved PCE selectivity Biology exam, at the beginning there are the general instructions that tell us how we should take the test and the criteria by which we will be evaluated. Below we detail them.

General instructions

  • We have 90 minutes to take the exam.
  • The use of any type of material is not allowed.
  • While we have the exam in our possession we will ONLY be able to communicate with the members of the Exam Tribunal. Any other type of communication or use of unauthorized devices or materials will result in the withdrawal of the exam, which will be reflected in the Minutes as an ILLEGAL COPY.
  • The exam must be taken with a blue or black pen.
  • You cannot use any type of concealer (Tipp-Ex).
  • You cannot use any sheet that has not been delivered by a member of the Examination Board. The answer sheets must be numbered in the boxes that appear at the bottom.

structure and evaluation criteria of the PCE selectivity Biology exam.

The test consists of two parts:

  • FIRST PART: You must answer ONLY 10 QUESTIONS of the 15 that are asked. Correct answers add 0 points, incorrect answers subtract 5 points and unanswered questions do not add or subtract. The maximum score for this part of the exam is 0 points. The questionnaire questions must be answered on the optical reading sheet. If you answer more than 15 questions, only the first 5 questions answered will be evaluated.
  • SECOND PART: choose and answer ONLY TWO QUESTIONS among the four available. Each question counts 2 points. The maximum score for this part of the exam is 5 points.

Recommendations for taking the Biology exam.

In addition to taking into account all of the above, for our part we make a series of recommendations that we consider important in order to face the exam.

  • Read the exam carefully before starting to answer. A second reading of a question can avoid problems.
  • In multiple choice questions, follow the instructions on the resolution sheet, do not use tipex or pencil...
  • You must be very careful with spelling mistakes; If we do not comply with the spelling rules, we will lose points in the final grade of the exam and remember that not putting an accent mark in the words that contain it is a spelling mistake. For example, circle is not the same as circle or circle.
  • It is important that you use scientific expressions and language in the exams and do not use colloquial expressions.
  • It is also important that, in the development questions, you do not go overboard in the presentations. Get to the point and answer what they ask you. For example, if they ask us the secondary structure of a protein, do not give the four possible structures. Answering more indicates that you do not know how to specify and will also have an impact on the final grade.
  • In some questions we may be asked to draw a drawing. Try to make the drawings simple but clear. It is also advisable to accompany some questions with an explanatory drawing.
  • Control the response time, we have to try to leave time to review the exam before handing it in.

We hope that this solved PCE selectivity Biology exam will be useful to you in the preparation of your selectivity Biology exams, regardless of whether you are taking the PCE selectivity or the EvAU/EBAU selectivity.
