Steps and documentation necessary to study in Spain as a Korean student
Asian students who aspire to study in Spain must meet general requirements to be admitted to a Spanish university. In general terms, it is required to have a qualification equivalent to the Spanish Baccalaureate. In many cases you will also need to pass a university entrance test, known as UNED Selectivity: the UNEDasiss Specific Competencies Tests.
- Legalization of the High School Diploma in Korea: for this, you must manage the legalization of the Korean High School Graduate title (고등학교). You will also have to complete the corresponding Hague Apostille process in your country.
- Professional from the Korean Secondary Degree to the Spanish Baccalaureate Degree: this process involves presenting a certified copy of the original degree. You will also present the grades from the last three years: 10, 11 and 12 of the Godeung Haggyo Jol-eop. In addition, a certified copy of the passport or identity document and the model 079 duly completed for university studies. - Request the UNEDasiss accreditation and registration in Specific Competence Tests PCE. These university entrance tests are in May and September and are recognized by Spanish universities to admit international students. You can prepare for these tests both in Korea and in Spain, but always with Luis Vives! You can choose from our training online o in-person.
IMPORTANT! To take the UNEDasiss PCE exams, it is sufficient to have initiated the validation process; you do not need to have received final validation. You can estimate your equivalent high school diploma grade based on your secondary school grade. In the South Korean education system, the grading scale ranges from 0 to 100, while in Spain it ranges from 0 to 10. Therefore, to find out your approximate validation grade, simply move the decimal point one place to the left. For example, if your Korean secondary school transcript shows an 87, your equivalent high school diploma grade in Spain will be 8,7. It might be slightly lower, but never higher.
